TOEFL iBT Training

Introduction:

The Test of English as a Foreign Language or TOEFL evaluates the potential of an individual to use and understand standard American English Language at a college level. It is required for non-native applicants at many US and other English-speaking colleges and universities. TOEFL is the product of the Educational Testing Service (ETS). A TOEFL score is valid for two years. It evaluates how well you combine your listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills to perform academic tasks. The average English skill level ranges between Intermediate and Advanced. The students planning to study at a higher education institution, more than 8,500 colleges, agencies and other institutions in over 130 countries accept TOEFL scores.

________________________________________ Test Format:

There are two formats for the TOEFL test. Most test takers take the TOEFL iBT test. Test centres that do not have Internet access offer the Paper-based Test (PBT). Since its introduction in late 2005, the Internet-based Test (iBT) has progressively replaced both the computer-based tests (CBT) and paper-based tests (PBT), although paper-based testing is still used in select areas. The CBT was discontinued in September 2006 and these scores are no longer valid.
